How to use it

Why the words are yours

This tool does not write your aftercare for you, and neither does Chairtime. Aftercare is advice about your client's skin, and it should come from the person who tattooed them: you know your process, the film or wrap you use and what you want to hear about. The boxes ask the questions a client will have. The answers are yours.

Writing it

Write for somebody reading it at eleven at night with a sore arm. Short sentences, one instruction each, in the order they happen. Say how long each step lasts, since "for the first few days" means something different to everybody. Finish with when to get in touch and how, so a worried client messages you rather than a forum.

A blank line starts a new paragraph. Leave a section empty and it is left off the sheet.

Printing it

The sheet prints twice across a landscape page of A4, to cut down the middle into two A5 cards. In the print window, turn off headers and footers for a clean edge. Nothing you type is saved, so print or copy it before you close the page.

Chairtime

Aftercare that sends itself.

Write your aftercare once in Chairtime and it is emailed to your client the moment you mark their appointment done, and, if you write one, a follow-up in your words a week or two later asking how it has healed. Free: nothing a month, and £1 a booking.
